Quote of the Week
“Spring is nature’s way of saying let’s party.” Robin Williams
Hello parents and caregivers; it’s the 1st week of Spring 2018! The weather has been a little average this week, but on the whole, we’re now on the up and up. It has been good to have the children outdoors at breaks running around the school exploring their surroundings and simply enjoying the fresh country air. We are getting a pool company in to service the pool and it is our intention to have it up and running for Term 4, then it will just be a case of waiting for the warmer weather to arrive.
I would like to welcome some new students and their families to our school. First of all welcome to Luka and Malakai. Luka is in Room 2 and Malakai is in Room 1. We also have Charlie who has just started this week in Room 1. Charlie is the cousin of Ihaia who is also in our junior room. Welcome to our 3 new students and your families. We wish you a very happy time here at Motumaoho School.
Kids for Kids Concert
A big thank you to all the parents that helped make this night a huge success. It was a long day for the children but they all did really well, and it was a great experience to be a part of. One that the children seemed to thoroughly enjoy. Thanks again.
If your Year 6 student is attending Morrinsville Intermediate next year, please return their enrolment forms to Mrs Wainwright in the office as soon as possible so we can forward them on to the Intermdiate in the next few weeks, thank you. A reminder that next Thursday 13th September is the third Open Day for families and their children to visit the school from 1:30-3pm.
Kickstart to School
Kickstart is this Friday morning 8:30am – 10:00am.
Sausage and bread or Pie-day Friday – $1.50
Lawnmower Racing/Prep Gala/Colour Run
Saturday November 10th is the date set down for this event. The day will consist of a ‘Colour Run’, Lawnmower Racing, the children’s PREP market (your child’s teacher can explain what this is), and food stalls. It will a fun and unique day. We will be looking for some volunteer helpers closer to the time, but for now – mark the date on your calendar.
Friday 21st September. More details to follow, but for now you can let your loved ones know the date, so they can hopefully attend.
Kath Jones, Reading Advisor
Kath will be back in our school, next Tuesday all day and Wednesday morning working with our teachers. Kath is very happy to meet with any interested parents who may wish to discuss helping to support your young reader. Please let your child’s teacher know if you would like a time.
Our PTA is running a fundraiser selling ‘My Vita’ organic, reusable bags for your smaller grocery items i.e. fruit, vegetables etc. These bags are 100% organic cotton, are machine washable and biodegradable! Order forms and information coming home with your children.
