Hello and welcome to Week 5, it is hard to believe that we are halfway through the term already. The weather has been absolutely amazing and it definitely feels like summer is in the air.
Motumaoho School is extremely privileged to have a such a hard working and passionate PTA, who really have been exceptional in organising an event for all our children to receive direct benefit. The gala was most certainly a highlight in our school year and the weather came to the party providing us with an amazing day, which was enjoyed by all. We were overwhelmed by the support of the local businesses, and look forward to planning more Gala Days in years to come. We just want to say a MASSIVE thank you to our school families for all your help and everyone who supported us by way of donations, sponsorship or help on the day. The Colour Run was a definite highlight of the day and it was just wonderful being able to provide this event to the wider community.
Our children still have a few bits and pieces to sell, so we have decided to provide a ‘night market’ as part of our PTA BBQ at the end of the year. The products are really gorgeous and would make fantastic Christmas presents.
Last week some minor pipe repair work was completed. We are now adjusting the chlorine levels and should be swimming extremely soon. I am not sure who is more excited about this, the children or the staff.
Rural Schools’ Athletics Day
Our annual Rural Schools’ Athletics Day is on Friday. Permission slips for this event, as well as a lunch order form, was sent home on Monday. If you haven’t already, these need to be returned to school as soon as possible. Also as the whole school will be going, we will need parent transport to and from the event. If you are able to help please let us know, it will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much to our wonderful volunteers, who helped us out on Monday, especially with the timing being right after the gala. This is a major fundraiser for our school. If you have not done it before and are keen to give it a go next time, please let Angela know. It is really easy and actually quite fun!
School Lunches/Breakfast Club
We are part of the School Breakfast Scheme, sponsored by Fonterra and Sanitarium. Any child requiring breakfast is most welcome to come to school before 8.15am, and staff will prepare this for them. However we have noticed there has been an increasing amount of children requiring ‘breakfast’ as a top up after they have finished their lunch. Staff always check lunch boxes to ensure that they have already eaten what is packed for the day, however it may pay to check that they are coming to school with plenty in their lunchbox if you would prefer them not to use this option.
We require all orders to be in by Tuesday please. Correct amounts enclosed or cheques written out to Masterpiece Photography. There is also an easy option to pay online. If you have more than one child, therefore more than one envelope, it’s fine to have one amount in total. Please note: no change will be given.
Please ensure these are settled as soon as possible, thank you.
Cheryl and staff.
