Principal’s Message

Dear parents, families and whanau,

Kia ora koutau katoa,

I can’t believe we have nearly reached the end of Term 1! Our learners have produced a fantastic term through their commitment in displaying our 3 R’s and the way they positively interact with each other. I am proud of all of your efforts and it’s such a pleasure to see. As term one draws to an end I would like to take this opportunity to thank our hardworking staff and I appreciate the support shown by our parents and our community.

PTA Thank you

It is with great pleasure to thank our PTA for purchasing Motumaoho School 5 new iPads. The new devices will improve our learners access to up to date technology and online learning resources. The new iPads are a great addition to our technology hardware and our teachers are looking forward to enhancing their learning programmes through the use of these devices.

The 3R’s Cup Winner

Classroom Awards to Date

Week 9: Rm 1 Maddisyn Evans, Rm 2 – Oliva Conn

Super effort by all of you and keep up the great work!

OMG Technology Trip – Room 1

Wow! This was such a great experience for our learners at the OMG workshop at Te Iti o Haua Marae Tauwhare. Our whole senior class got to develop their technology skills through 3D printing, unmaking devices, robotics programming and the scratch programme. Our learners were also welcomed onto the marae with a powhiri and kai. Thank you to Lisa and Marisa for helping out with our trip.

Gumboot Friday

Thank you to all the children who wore their gumboots and donated a gold coin. As a school we raised $41.50. Well done to everybody! In class we had positive discussions about activities and things we can do to make us feel better and support us with our resilience.

Cycle Training – Paul Miller NZ Cycling

Our learners had a fantastic time learning from Paul about safe cycling skills. Our learners were shown a number of ways to navigate safely through challenging tasks on their bikes. The skills learnt will be of huge benefit and it’s advised the children to practise what they have been shown.

Parent Conferences

As you are aware parent conferences are held after school today. Thank you to those who have made an appointment. Our teachers look forward to sharing your child’s learning progress for Term one and their next learning steps. If you have not made an appointment yet please check in with Phillip this afternoon at the school office to arrange a time.

Confirm Enrolments

For the parents who are intending for their child to be enrolled in our school for the first time this year and 2020 can you please let me know. Having an idea of who is going to attend our school will be valuable information to help plan and prepare the school year.

New Enrolments

If you know of any parent or parents who have a child turning five soon or are thinking of making a change with where they send their child, please let them know we have places available in both of our classrooms. Direct them to me please for information about our school to help them make an informed decision.
