Dear parents, families and whanau,
Kia ora koutau katoa,
As this will be the last newsletter for Term 2, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our hardworking teachers, teaching assistants and office administrator. The efforts they put into supporting all our learners is incredible and we are fortunate to have such committed people in our school community.
All our learners have worked tirelessly during a term filled with changeable weather and sickness. I must credit all our learners with their desire to show our 3 R’s through some challenging times.
A thank you must go out to our parents and community members who have supported our learners and our school through school events, trips, fundraising and assemblies. Without your support our learners could not have the fantastic learning opportunities on offer.
As we now have a new fence currently being erected, please ensure cars are parked with a safe distance between the fence and cars to allow children and adults to walk in front of the cars and avoid walking behind the cars as much as possible.
When you arrive to pick up your child their teacher will indicate they can leave. If you have arranged for someone else to pick up your child, please let our office know.
I look forward to Term 3 and the positive learning opportunities that will take place for our learners. I hope all our learners have a well-deserved break and we will see you all in Term 3.
Classroom Awards to Date
Week 7: Rm 1 – Cole Keenan, Rm 2 – Tilli Morgan
The 3R’s Cup Winner
Week 7: Ihaia De Thierry
Congratulations to Ihaia, our cup holder for Week 7 who has displayed Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. Thank you for displaying our 3 values.
Super effort by all of you and keep up the great work!
There will be no assembly this Friday. We will hold our last assembly for the term next Friday where we will present the classroom awards and 3R’s Cup. We look forward to seeing you there.
New School Fence
The new fence is well on it’s way and we look forward to it’s completion. We appreciate your patience and support with this project.
On Wednesday the 12th of June we held our school cross-country. On the day leading up to the event we had on and off rain but decided to carry on with our school cross-country. It was fantastic to see our juniors giving their course a go and with enthusiam! Our senior course involved running the perimeter of our school with hurdles to jump over. It was great to see them giving it a go and showing resilience. The event was well attended by parents and families. We thank you for your support.
On Friday the 21st of June we took a group of keen runners to the Morrinsville Inter-school cross-country held at the Tahuna golf course. The track was challenging and I was proud of all our runners who never gave up! Thanks to the parents who were able to provide transport and vocal support for our runners.
COL Teacher Only Day
The teacher only day is Monday the 1st of July. School will be closed and we apologise if this has caused any inconvience. The teachers will be working with the Morrinsville Community of Learning and well known neuroscience educator Nathan Wallis for the day. The COL is made up of ten local schools.
There is also an evening seminar with Nathan at the College from 7:30pm. Information on the evening was sent home yesterday.
School accounts are coming home today also. As we are almost half way through the year, we expect these to be settled by the end of the term. Thank you to those families who have made arrangements with the office to make regular payments. However, there are a number of extremely outstanding accounts that MUST be addressed as a matter of urgency. As mentioned previously, we are happy for you to set up an automatic payment to keep your account under control. The school account number is on the bottom of your statement. Thank you to those families who have settled their account in full. We really appreciate this.
If you know of any parent or parents who have a child turning five soon or are thinking of making a change with where they send their child, please let them know we have places available in both of our classrooms. Direct them to me please for information about our school to help them make an informed decision.
