Principal’s Message
Dear parents, families and whanau,
Kia ora koutau katoa,
Our learning programmes are in full swing and it is great to see our learners all getting involved and taking ownership for their learning. The work being produced is fantastic to see and I encourage our learners to keep striving to do their best. Thanks to all our families with the support you provide our learners. Term 3 is shaping up as being another great term.
Livestock Day
We have set a date for our Livestock Day which will be held on Wednesday 16 th of October. This year, as calves are not included, the indication from our families are all for goats only, so this is the category we are running. We will send home official entry forms later on in the term. Thanks for supporting this traditional event that we can offer as a rural school.
In conjunction with our Livestock Day, the rest of the school will be taking part in some creative activities by way of a Flower Display, Vegetable Sculptures and a Bake Off. It’s going to be a fun day, so parents and caregivers, save the date! More details will be sent home later in the term.

KidsCan Crazy Dress Up Day
On Thursday the 8th of August (tomorrow) the Kidscan programme is having a national crazy dress day. Please support the Kidscan cause by dressing up in a crazy style and donate a gold coin. Kidscan is a programme that provides support for kiwi kids living in hardship.
Assembly
Our next assembly is Friday the 16thof August. We really appreciate the support shown for our learners at assemblies.
Look what’s been happening this week!
It’s showtime! We were very lucky today to have a sneak preview of the magic and illusion spectacular ‘It’s Showtime’ who are touring this month. Griffin was the lucky assistant today! There is a show held at the Morrinsville Intermediate on Friday 23rd August at 7pm. Tickets available at www.itsshowtime.co.nz
Work Samples
Animal similes. Can you guess what animals our simile stories are about?
The lion is fluffy like a cat, it’s nose is like a dog and has whiskers like a cat. It’s eyes are like a person laying. By Daisy
The giraffe has a very long neck like a skyscraper and it has spots like a neck tie. The giraffe lives in Africa in the Savanna. It has big ears to keep the flies off its back. It has big eyelashes to see in the distance. They can walk a long way without water. The cheetah is the second fastest animal in the world. They only live in Africa. They are sort of like the secretary bird. Their teeth are like a baby crocodile. By Griffin
The elephant has a long trunk like a stick and it’s ears are like a leaf. The elephant has big feet like a big rock. The elephant is big like a house. By Charlotte
Skool Loop App
Don’t forget to download our Skool Loop App if you haven’t already done so. Not only is this an amazing tool that is free for our school, but you can support the local businesses who support us, by advertising on the app.
New Enrolments
If you know of any parent or parents who have a child turning five soon or are thinking of making a change with where they send their child, please let them know we have places available in both of our classrooms. Direct them to me please for information about our school to help them make an informed decision.
