Dear parents, families and whanau,
Kia ora kautou,
As we are approaching the end of Term 3, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our parent and wider community for your ongoing support of our school. I also want to thank the staff for your commitment and efforts you have shown. Finally, but certainly not less, I want to thank all our learners for your desire and hard work you show to make progress in your learning and role modelling our 3R’s, well done!
The 3R’s Cup Winner
Week 8: Mal Parangi
Congratulations to Mal, our cup holder for Week 8 who has displayed Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. Thank you for displaying our 3 values.
Classroom Awards to Date
Week 8: Rm 1 – Chase Hooker, Rm 2 – Olivia Conn.
Super effort by all of you and keep up the great work!
Sir Peter Blake Award
At our last assembly Kayla Healy received the Sir Peter Blake Award for showing leadership through being supportive of others and role modelling positive work habits. Congratulations Kayla.
Our next assembly is Friday the 27thof September. The support shown at our last assembly was fantastic and we look forward to your support at the final assembly for Term 3.
From the Board of Trustees
We have received the provisional staffing entitlement for 2020 based on our July 1stroll return. As a result we are able to continue with two classrooms for 2020. Our next board meeting is Monday 23rd September starting at 6pm in Room 1.
Soccer and Hockey Fun Day
Our seniors, Year 4 – 6, attended the Soccer and Hockey Fun day at the Morrinsville Recreation grounds last week. We made a team with four members from Tauhei School. All the children mixed well together and played some good soccer and hockey. It was a pleasure to see our learners showing our 3R’s throughout the entire day.
This Sunday, 22nd September starting at 10am we will have a working bee. The main job to be done is clear the weeds, blackberry bushes and privet down in the gully area to allow our learners to use it. If you are able to provide a weed eater or any relevant tools to help us with the job that will be much appreciated. We have some wonderful native trees growing and they will look even better after the clearing is done. The stream will be an excellent resource for our learners. We look forward to seeing you there!
Our Learners’ Work
Parents and caregivers, you are always welcome to come and see your children’s work in the classroom. Pop in and see the latest work that our juniors have on display. Great work Room 2!
School Holiday Activities
There are a number of school holiday camps and activities such as Dance/Movement and Drama classes that we get sent, but are often too much to include in our newsletter. If you are interested in any school holiday events please contact Angela in the school office and she can give you this information.
Trophies to be Returned
Ahead of next term, if you could start cleaning up any academic trophies your child may have received last year and return to the school office as soon as possible, we would greatly appreciate it.
If you know of any parent or parents who have a child turning five soon or are thinking of making a change with where they send their child, please let them know we have places available in both of our classrooms. Direct them to me please for information about our school to help them make an informed decision.
