Dear parents, families and whanau,
Kia ora kautou,
I can’t believe we are nearly at the halfway point of our last term of 2020. It has been great to see our learners committed and focused on their learning. As the weather has been much warmer our learners have been outside enjoying the wonderful large spaces, nature areas and each other’s positive company.
The school pool is currently in the cleaning process from the winter months and we will let you all know when our school pool is ready for swimming. Hopefully not long to wait.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank parents and staff for your help and support with our Livestock Day, Morrinsville Group Day, Book Character Day, Rural Athletics on Friday and the PTA disco next week. Without this support we would not be able to provide our learners with these fantastic opportunities.
The 3R’s Cup
Congratulations to Georgia Evans, our cup holder for Week 4, who has displayed Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. Thank you Georgia for displaying our 3 values!
Rm 1 – Charlotte Bigham, Rm 2 – Tilli Morgan.
Super effort by all of you and keep up the great work!
Sir Peter Blake Award
Congratulations to Maddisyn Evans who received this important award. Maddisyn has shown positive leadership through her actions, she supports others and is a good role model. Well done Maddy!
Rural Schools’ Athletics Day
A reminder that the whole school is attending the Rural School’s Athletics Day at Tauhei School on Friday. For those who haven’t ordered a burger lunch, there will be a sausage sizzle running. We have had an awesome response for transport – thank you! We will confirm with you tomorrow if we require your help for those of you who have offered.
Next Monday the 16th November, Masterpiece Photography will be here school taking our school photos. You are welcome to bring pre-schoolers along for a photo with their siblings.
Our next assembly is Friday the 20th November. We really appreciate the support shown for our learners at assemblies. At our last assembly the juniors shared their thoughts on our oak tree using book creator. It was such outstanding work. Our seniors shared their Guy Fawkes art and animal inquires. Well done to all our learners!
Due to the Rural Schools’ Athletics Day on Friday, the Spelling Bee will now be held on Monday 16th November.
Book Character Day
Today we held our Book Character Day and what a beautiful day it was! Our focus is on kindness and this was showcased with our learners celebrating this by making kindness comments to put on their pillow case. We shared our books with each other by reading these out aloud. Our learners and staff had such a fun experience!
