Dear parents, families and whanau,
Kia ora koutau katoa,
I am pleased with the efforts our learners are making with their learning. It’s great to see the motivation and drive to succeed. I look forward to seeing this continued development.
I would like to thank the teachers for organising a great trip to Sanctuary Mountain yesterday and the parents who were able to provide transport and help out.
Professional Development for our Teachers
Our application for ‘Assessment for Learning PLD’ has been approved for 50 Ministry funded hours. A huge success for our school as this PLD will support our focuses for lifting learner achievement in reading, writing and maths. The PLD is done through the facilitator Tabitha Leonard who is a former student of Motumaoho School. Exciting times for our teachers and learners!
The 3R’s Cup Winner

Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari Trip
On Tuesday the 23rd March our school went on a school trip to Sanctuary Mountain, Maungatautari. Our learners enjoyed the opportunity to experience New Zealand’s rich biodiversity. I hope you enjoy the photos!
I enjoy when our learners come to me and share their writing and the joy on their face when I give them a Principal Award sticker is delightful! Enjoy the following:
We are going on a school trip to Sanctuary Mountain and it will be fun. They put netting around the mountain to stop predators getting in the mountain because kiwis and other birds are laying eggs. By Taize.
I am going to Sanctuary Mountain to find some creatures like the kiwi, kaka, takahe and kokako. Sanctuary Mountain has a big fence around to protect the birds. By Cooper.
Tomorrow we are going to the Sanctuary Mountain. We are going for a bush walk and get to hold a real kiwi egg. By Leon
