Room Tui’s Reading

During the first two weeks of the term, the students were learning more about the Olympic Games and its history. We integrated our learning into reading, writing, maths, art and physical education, learning about the muscles in our bodies and exploring movements (running, jumping, skipping, etc.). Monitoring the medal count was a way to keep track of the progress the New Zealand athletes were making and it was also used to do problem solving in maths time. The learning in class flowed out into the playground when the students practiced gymnastics on the equipment, ran races, played ball games. What an exciting time! Well done to all our athletes. Our learning display includes the medal puzzles that we have created.
