Principal’s Message

Tena Koutou Katoa

This week I would like to start with a big thank you to our parent community for your support throughout this term. With all the uncertainty and changes out there, we have managed to continue our routines and activities here with relative ease.

As the Covid-19 Protection (Traffic Light) Framework will start from Friday, 3 December 2021, schools will continue to work under the current levels until January 2022. A detailed letter was sent out yesterday. Please have a look at the letter, if you haven’t done so already.

Learning in different ways

Here at Motumaoho School we like to learn in different ways. We are not only bound to the classroom spaces and sometimes we even see lawn clippings as a way to learn and have fun.

Have a look at these photographs to see what we have been up to.

PTA

Thank you to the previous committee members, Michelle Evans, Lisa Bigham and Chanelle Love for all their contributions over the years and a number of other parents who have stepped in to help out with events also. Motumaoho School is appreciative of all your hard work and keeping the focus on wanting the best for all our students. We now have a new committee to welcome. The committee members are: Brad Arnold (Chairperson), Katherine McCulloch (Treasurer), Dulcie Pritchard (Secretary) and we also welcome Melanie Brunton and Andrea Fitness to the committee. Thank you for your willingness to support our school and of course the students.

Anyone is welcome to attend the meetings and work with the PTA to support our school, you don’t have to be an official member so please feel free to make contact with the PTA if you’d like to help out at all going forward.

During the first ‘working bee’ a garden area was uncovered. Most did not even know that it existed. We will be working with the students to identify how we can develop this further. Thank you to everyone who was able to help on the night. We hope that we will be able to see more of our parent community getting involved.
